De Gruyter is an independent publishing house with a history stretching back 250 years. Including its imprints, it forms one of the largest European publishers in the humanities.

Each year it produces over 500 new titles in the fields of humanities, medicine, natural science and law, and in addition publishes over 180 specialist journals, as well as reference and primary source databases. Access to de Gruyter's eBooks, eJournals and databases is offered in a new integrated platform: De Gruyter Online.
